A little help, when you need it.

Help with your account, the app, and your subscription.
Sign-in & account access
Use the same sign-in method and account you used when creating your journal. Recollekt supports email sign-in codes and Sign in with Apple.
- For email sign-in, check that your address is correct, look in spam or junk, and use the latest code you requested.
- For Sign in with Apple, use the same Apple Account. If you chose Hide My Email, your Recollekt account may use an Apple private relay address.
- If an account looks empty, contact support before creating another account or changing sign-in methods.
For a device authentication problem, check that Face ID or a passcode is configured on your iPhone. Do not delete or reinstall Recollekt as a first troubleshooting step: unsynced writing or local drafts may be lost.
If you cannot sign in, you can still email hi@recollekt.app. Include your sign-in method and account email, but never a password, sign-in code or recovery secret.
App & voice problems
For a crash, sync issue or unresponsive feature, note what happened and check your connection. If the app remains responsive, save your current writing before closing it. Check whether an update is available in the App Store.
Cloud reflection, dictation and read-aloud need a working connection to their services. For dictation, check microphone permission in iPhone Settings → Apps → Recollekt. For read-aloud, check volume and your selected audio output. If location tags are missing, check both iOS location permission and Recollekt’s entry-location setting.
AI features share the writing, audio or context needed for a request with service providers. Read how Recollekt uses AI in Privacy & security. For a privacy or AI-permission question, contact support without including your journal content.
Useful details for a support email
- App version and build, if available.
- iPhone model and iOS version.
- The feature involved and steps to reproduce the problem.
- What you expected and what happened instead.
- The approximate time and any non-sensitive error message.
Keep your journal private. Do not send journal entries, recordings, passwords, sign-in codes, payment-card details or other secrets. A screenshot is optional; crop or redact personal content first.
Restore purchases
If you purchased through Apple and your subscription is not recognized:
- Check that the App Store uses the Apple Account that made the purchase.
- Sign in to the Recollekt account associated with the purchase.
- Open Recollekt’s subscription screen and choose Restore purchases, when available in your build.
- Keep the app online while restoration finishes.
Do not buy the subscription again just to restore access. If restoration fails, email support with the app version and error message. Apple provides additional purchase-restoration help. Refund requests for Apple purchases go through Apple’s Report a Problem.
Manage subscriptions
For a subscription purchased through Apple, manage your plan directly with Apple:
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Choose Recollekt.
- Choose an available plan option or tap Cancel Subscription.
If no cancellation button appears, check the status shown by Apple. See Apple’s current cancellation instructions, including help finding the account billed.
Deleting your account does not cancel your plan
Account deletion and Apple subscription cancellation are separate actions. Deleting Recollekt or requesting account/data deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it with Apple if you want to stop renewal.
Account & data deletion
Deleting your account permanently removes your Recollekt account and its associated cloud data. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not delete your cloud account.
How to delete your account
- Open Profile → Account → Delete account. If you see an invitation to talk with the founder, choose Continue to delete to go straight to identity verification. The call is optional.
- Confirm your identity. For an email account, retype the email shown for your account and verify the code sent to it. A different address cannot receive the deletion code. For an Apple-linked account, use Continue with Apple; you do not also need an email code.
- Review the subscription and data details, then choose Delete account in the final alert. It says: “This action can’t be undone. Your account, Reflekt, and all associated data will be permanently deleted.”
Entering a code or confirming with Apple only proves ownership. It does not delete data or revoke Apple sign-in access. You can cancel before final confirmation. Once the deletion request is accepted, it cannot be undone.
Your Apple subscription is separate
Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription or stop its renewal. Manage Apple subscriptions to cancel it. Cancellation is not required to continue with deletion, and deletion remains available if your subscription has expired or you have declined AI permission.
What happens after I confirm?
Once Recollekt accepts your confirmed request, it blocks further changes to the account. The app removes that account’s data from this device, signs you out and returns to onboarding. Cloud deletion continues automatically, even if you close the app: uploaded files are removed, followed by the sign-in account and associated data, including your entries, Reflekt and Lucy conversations.
You do not need to keep the app open or stay on a progress screen. Processing is checked every minute; outages or larger accounts can take longer, and failed steps are retried. When cloud deletion is confirmed, the app shows an Account deleted message while open or when you return. If you see Account deletion needs attention, open it and follow the recovery instructions. Use Retry device cleanup if local files could not be removed. Other accounts and local writing never associated with the deleted account are preserved.
Cloud completion and service-provider cleanup are separate. Provider cleanup may still be pending. Backups, older provider records and copies on other or offline devices have limits described in retention and deletion. For an Apple-linked account, the recovery screen may also link to Apple’s instructions for removing sign-in access if automatic revocation could not be completed. This does not prevent your Recollekt cloud data from being deleted.
What if I sign in again with the same email?
After deletion completes, email sign-in can create a new account. Your old entries, Reflekt and conversations do not return. Signing in again does not cancel a pending deletion request. Wait for the completion confirmation before creating another account.
A new account does not automatically mean a new free trial. Subscription and purchase eligibility are separate. If you still have an Apple subscription, see Restore purchases or contact support before buying again. Restoring a purchase does not restore deleted writing.
Can’t finish deletion?
If the option is unavailable in your version, you cannot access the associated email or Apple account, or progress or device cleanup remains stuck, email hi@recollekt.app with the subject “Account and data deletion”. Include your account email, app version, sign-in method and the non-sensitive error or step where you got stuck. You can also request removal of particular data.
Support is available without signing in, an active subscription or AI permission. We may need to verify account ownership. Never send passwords, sign-in codes, recovery receipts, Apple credentials or journal content. Sending a support request is not confirmation that deletion has finished.
